A great kickoff to College Football Mental Health Week!

Hear What's Happening: College Football Mental Health Week 2021

We’re halfway through College Football Mental Health Week, and we have seen such overwhelming support! Universities have shown up, raised three, worn ribbons, fought mental health stigma, and provided their students with resources. Along with thousands of students and faculty, people heard about our mission on ESPN, CBS Sports, and SportsCenter (to name a few).

On Tuesday, we met with Alabama Governor Kay Ivey and Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth as they signed a proclamation declaring October 2-9 to be Student-Athlete Mental Health Week. We are encouraged and inspired by the support of the great state of Alabama.

Also on Tuesday, Hilinski’s Hope sat on a panel for Pac-12 Mental Health Week alongside our partners, The Hidden Opponent and Dam Worth It. It was a powerful conversation, and we are lucky to continue telling our stories about Tyler in such great company.

On Wednesday, we hosted a Mental Health Training alongside Prevention Strategies, to give student-athletes actionable steps and helpful language to advocate for their mental health, and help teammates that may be struggling. Hundreds of student-athletes heard that their #MentalHealthMatters. We look forward to a continued partnership with Prevention Strategies, as we launch mental health modules next year, which you can read about here.

Looking forward, this weekend we are excited to see several more schools show their support on Saturday! We’ll be at the UMass game to raise 3 alongside the players and fans, and we'll meet with the coaches Sunday, and all student-athletes Monday for our Tyler Talk.

Feel free to join the conversation and show your support, and continue to follow the story on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

Lastly, none of this would be possible without the support we continuously receive from people like you. Since the launch of our programming for College Football Mental Health Week, we have raised $18,964! We are aiming to raise $33,333 by World Mental Health Day on October 10th. We’d appreciate your consideration in helping us reach our goal!

You can also donate by texting H3HOPE to 44321.

Here’s to the rest of College Football Mental Health Week - thank you
for joining us on this journey.

With Love and Hope,
Mark and Kym Hilinski, and The Hilinski Hope Team
