Student Athlete Mental Health Week
Student Athlete Mental Health Week returns October 4-11, 2025.
Each year, Hilinski’s Hope Foundation curates a collective week of action focused on eliminating stigma and increasing mental health resources for universities and colleges nationwide.
This week coincides with Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 1-7, culminating on World Mental Health Day on October 10.
This week asks universities nationwide to participate in breaking down stigma, offering quality resources, and letting student athletes know that we care. Read more in our 2024 press release.
In 2024, 210+ colleges and universities joined us for Student Athlete Mental Health Week!
How Your School Can Partner
Ribbon Decals
Show solidarity for those struggling with mental health and illness by featuring a green ribbon on your uniform! H3H will provide a free box of materials with a green ribbon design - including helmet stickers, wristbands, hair ties, temporary tattoos, lapel pins, cheer bows, and patches.
Mental Health PSA and “3 in the 3rd”
A 60 second mental health PSA will be provided by Hilinski’s Hope to play during halftime (or feel free to make your own!). Click here to watch our PSA from 2023.
3 in the 3rd is a tradition that started at the University of South Carolina in which game attendees are asked to raise 3 fingers in the air for the first play of the third quarter. This allows students, parents, alumni, and fans to participate in showing solidarity.
Social Media
Use your school’s social media platforms to build awareness, create community, and break down stigma during Student Athlete Mental Health Week. Hilinski’s Hope will provide a digital toolkit with graphics, captions, and examples of action plans your school can implement on campus.
H3H Programs
Partner with Hilinski’s Hope for Student Athlete Mental Health Week by enrolling your university in one of our mental health programs, such as Game Plan, the Online Mental Health Course, or Care Quarterback™.
Thank you to our 2024 sponsors
