OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Stevenson University and the department of athletics are once again partnering with Hilinski's Hope Foundation (H3H) during the 2021-22 academic year.

The iniative, founded by Mark and Kym Hilinski to honor the legacy of their son Tyler, includes the second annual College Football Mental Health Week. Focusing on a series of mental health initiatives, the football program will wear special helmet decals for its game on Saturday, October 2. Additionally, the Stevenson women's soccer team will take part during its contest on Saturday against Salisbury.

Currently, the Stevenson football, women's soccer, men's basketball and women's basketball programs all partner with the Hilinski's Hope Foundation at various points in the year. Stevenson was among the first NCAA DIII institutions to participate, now joining over 50 colleges and universities nationwide. The initiative began at Stevenson by Assistant AD and men's basketball coach Gary Stewart.

Hilinski's Hope will host a mental health training, open to student-athletes nationwide, on October 6 from 8:00-9:00 PM EDT. The training will teach athletes about the signs of struggle, how to check in with their own mental health, and simple steps to help themselves and their teammates stay mentally healthy.
